Stage set for polls in 2 Graduates constituencies.The stage is set for the elections to fill the vacancies from two graduates’ constituencies of Telangana Legislative Council on Sunday.
Hyderabad: The stage is set for the elections to fill the vacancies from two graduates’ constituencies of Telangana Legislative Council on Sunday. Though the elections are on a non- party basis, it will reveal the fortunes of TRS, Congress and BJP – TDP combine. All the parties undertook hectic campaign for the victory of their respective candidates.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation made elaborate arrangements for the conduct of MLC election to be held on Sunday for Graduates Constituency of Mahaboobnagar, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad. Further the GHMC has provided strongroom at Victory Playground at Chadherghat and making arrangements for counting with 28 tables being put in place.
In Rangareddy – Hyderabad – Mahbubnagar Graduates constituency, as many as 2.86 lakh have been enrolled as voters. As many as 894 polling booths were set up in the three districts for electorate to exercise their franchise. As many as 31 candidates are in the fray from the Graduates constituency. N Ramachandra Rao from TDP- BJP, Devi Prasad from TRS and from Congress Ravi Kumar Gupta are the main contestants.
NOTA (Non Of The Above) option also figured on the ballot paper. All the polling booths in Hyderabad have been equipped with CC cameras. Over 2 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in Nalgonda- Khammam- Warangal Graduates constituency. TDP- BJP-backed candidate E Ram Mohana Rao and TRS candidate P Rajeshwara Reddy are the main contenders in the election.
