Chakrapani elected vice-president of COSICO.Sambaraju Chakrapani, a consumer rights activist from Warangal, has been elected as the vice president of Consortium of South India Consumer Organisations (COSICO).

Warangal: Sambaraju Chakrapani, a consumer rights activist from Warangal, has been elected as the vice president of Consortium of South India Consumer Organisations (COSICO). The organisation is spread across six states of southern India namely Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puduchery and Kerala.

The representatives of state-level consumer forums would be a part of the organisation. At a meeting of the organisation representatives in Chennai in the last week, a new governing council with sixteen members was elected.

VK Somasekaram of Bengaluru has been elected as the chairman, Chakrapani as vice president representing Telangana and P Ram Rao of Andhra Pradesh elected as general secretary. Managing Trustee of the Consumer Guidance Society Bejon Mishra and former Chief Election Commissioner TS Krishnamurthy have congratulated the newly elected body, informed Chakrapani in a statement here on Sunday.
