Desecration of Chakali Ilamma statue decried

Nagarkurnool (Mahabubnagar): People’s associations, activists of Rajaka Sangham and BC unions staged a rasta roko near Ambedkar statue here on Monday protesting against the desecration and burning of Chakali Ilamma statue in Alampur. They raised slogans demanding action against those who were involved in burning of the statue.

Later, the activists submitted a memorandum to the RDO. Speaking on the occasion, BC union leader Narasimha condemned the burning of Chakali Ilamma statue. He said that it was the responsibility of the State government to nab the culprits and punish them for insulting the statue of Chakali Ilamma, who was a prominent leader of Telangana armed struggle.
