But dissatisfied with the lack of sensitivity of the government towards the issue, Opposition parties walked out of the Assembly on Tuesday.
When the issue was raised during the Question Hour on Tuesday, under pressure from the Opposition Finance Minister Etela Rajender conceded that 1,07,744 vacant posts are available from which about 15,000 posts are related to the Kamalanathan committee; about 85,000 posts are district, zonal, multi-zonal posts. Hence there is no hurdle for recruitments to the posts.
Even through the discussion, the government received criticism from the opposition for not finalizing the timeline for the recruitments to be taken up. Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy said that not even thousand posts have been filled by the government even after assuring that 85 percent of the posts will be initiated immediately.
