Hyderabad: The Telangana State government has a proposal to promote green house cultivation within 100 Km radius around Hyderabad. This was stated by the Minister for Agriculture P Srinivas Reddy in the State Assembly in reply to a question by M Sudhakar Reddy, Ch Madan Redy and others.

The Minister said there was a proposal to give subsidy to the farmers under the green house cultivation programme. The Union government had allocated Rs.9.30 crore and the State government had earmarked Rs.250 crore (75 per cent subsidy to the farmers). The Minister also said there was a proposal to establish Training Centres for skill development of the farmers.

Steps being taken to tackle low voltage problem

The Minister for Power Jagadish Reddy said, in reply to a question by V Prashanth Reddy, that all necessary steps were being taken to solve the low voltage problem in the State. Upgrading of electricity substations and increasing the number of transformers were among the measures being undertaken to tackle the problem.

The Minister said that in Balkonda Assembly constituency in Nizamabad district, at present two new 33/11 KV Substation works were under progress and they would be charged before the end of May this year and three new 33/11 KV Sub-stations requirements were identified.

He said two additional PTRs were already charged and one PTR would be charged within few days and five additional PTRs proposals were under process. The Minister said in addition to the above, to overcome overloading of feeders, five feeders were already bifurcated, one feeder bifurcation estimate sanctioned and nine feeder bifurcation proposals are under preparation.
