Govt relaxes norms for Shaadi Mubarak

Hyderabad: The State government relaxed norms for applicants of Shaadi Mubarak scheme by making amendments to the earlier GO. Now, the applicants who do not have date of birth certificate as proof of age can also submit copy of voter ID card or ration card or Aadhaar card.

As per the GO passed on October 2, 2014, it was made mandatory to produce date of birth certificate, but after realising difficulty in obtaining the same, the government made amendments to the GO. The Minorities’ Welfare Department came to a conclusion that most of the applicants were from poor background and had not studied up to SSC. For them, the process has become laborious. It requested the government to consider some additional evidence on age proof. After careful examination of the matter, the government has made amendments.
