23 PG students suspended.As many as 23 students, pursuing MA (English) were suspended by the Arts College principal here on Friday on the charge of attacking Head of the Department of English in Satavahavana University on Saturday.

Karimnagar: As many as 23 students, pursuing MA (English) were suspended by the Arts College principal here on Friday on the charge of attacking Head of the Department of English in Satavahavana University on Saturday.

The students were charged with attacking Head of the English Department Dr P V Laxmi Prasad for giving fewer marks in internal examinations, the reslts of which were declared on Thursday. The students also allegedly destroyed the furniture in his office. They also burnt the answer sheets which were there in his office.
The students went on the rampage despite the pleas by University Registrar Prof Komai Reddy and Controller of Examination Prof Bharat. Reacting to the incident, the lecturers Padmavathi, Jumeda, Ravinder Muthyam, Chakradhar, Ramesh, Vara Prasad and Krishna Murthy of the Arts College staged a sit-in at the administrative building of the University.
