ACB traps Excise SI

Nizamabad: An excise Sub-Inspector was caught red-handed by ACB officials here on Friday when he collected a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a toddy-tapper for removing his name from a case registered last December.According to ACB DSP Narender Reddy, the excise officials registered a case in last December against toddy-tapper N Parusharam Goud and others.

The DSP said that Parushuram Goud told Bodhan area excise SI B Narsing Rao that he was innocent and that his name should be removed from the list of accused in the case. Following Parushuram Goud’s request, the SI agreed to remove his name and demanded Rs 10,000 as bribe to do the favour.

The toddy-tapper was not interested to give bribe to the excise SI and lodged a complaint with the ACB officials. The ACB sleuths laid a trap and caught excise SI Narsing Rao red-handed at his house while he was collecting Rs 10,000 from Parushuram Goud and registered a case.
