Hyderabad: Seven crucial bills were adopted in the Telangana Legislative Council, including two bills of Telangana Appropriation Bill, 2015 on Friday. The Council was adjourned sine die, after a day long debate. The Appropriation Bill, 2015 was unanimously adopted in the Council. Other five bills which were passed in the House were the Parliamentary Secretaries Bill, Domestic and Industrial Water Grid Pipelines, Agricultural Produce and Livestock Market (Amendment) Bill, Warangal Metropolitan Area Police Bill, Telangana Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill.
The House also passed two resolutions including Crop Insurance Scheme, where it has urged the Centre to treat ‘Farmer as Unit’ instead of village or mandal or district as unit under the Agricultural Crop Insurance Schemes. In another resolution it asked the Central government to continue the existing mill levy percentage of 25 in future also for safeguarding the interests of the farmers of Telangana. It opposed the decision to remove 25 percent rice mill levy.
