Roll back power tariff hike: Uttam.Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday demanded that the State government roll back the power tariff hike since the raw material required for power generation like coal and crude oil prices crashed drastically in the domestic as well as international markets.

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan here, Uttam Kumar regretted that it was not fair on the part of the State government to hike power tariff instead of reducing it. He urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao not to impose needless burden on the common man as well as industries.
He suggested to Chandrashekar Rao that if the latter really wanted to boost industrial sector in the State, his government should roll back power tariff hike besides giving power at a subsidized price. He also warned that the Congress would organise a massive protest in the entire State if the government failed to reduce power hike immediately.
