What is the secret behind Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's utter haste to build a new secretariat and shift there as early as possible? By doing so KCR wants to force the AP CM to also relocate his base for operations in Hyderabad. He wants to make Hyderabad as a real Telangana city to reflect its culture and ethos.

All is set for the construction of the new secretariat complex of the Telangana government at Chest Hospital near Erragadda, which will be relocated at Vikarabad. Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara says that the government had already placed order for the design of the multi-storied complex to come up on the sprawling campus of the hospital, besides making a budgetary provision for the work this year.

His Vaastu concerns apart KCR is very particular to leave his stamp on the Hyderabad state capital and change almost everything that has been done by the Seemandhra leaders during the last 60 years. Soon work will begin on the renovation of the Tank Bund and the removal of most of the statues of non-Telangana leaders there.

The TS CM has chosen the 68 acre campus to relocate the Secretariat to make it all comprehensive and also all purposeful for the needs of the people of the state. Said to cost Rs.150 crore, the new Secretariat would have residential quarters for ministers and officers and offices of all the head of departments would also be located in the same premises.

In the event of shifting of TS secretariat in a year or two, the AP government has to choose its own complex for its temporary stay as KCR wants to convert the present secretariat complex into a mega recreation complex on the banks of Hussainsagar Lake as in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
