Hyderabad: Telangana Employees’ Confederation (TEC) on Saturday alleged that the Telangana government was adopting double standards on its promise of protecting the interests of genuine and non-corrupt officials. The TEC expressed its discontent at the State government for ordering a departmental inquiry against a woman official Kiranmayi based on a false report.

Demanding immediate suspension of Cooperative in-charge Commissioner of Rayalaseema for ordering inquiry and allegedly harassing women employees, TEC chairman E Venkatesama and co-chairman V Pundarikaksha Rao asked the government to revoke the inquiry. The inquiry will only come as a blow to honest officials and staff besides discouraging them from discharging duties in a proper manner they opined.

They also contended that the lady official, who was noted for exposing misappropriation of funds in cooperative housing societies, was slapped with an inquiry. The inquiry order would only insult the honest staff, they deplored. The government refused to act on a report which exposed the misdeeds of the in-charge commissioner, they said. The Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary should intervene and revoke the inquiry lest the TEC would take up a fight until justice was done to the woman official, they added.
