Hyderabad: CPM State secretary T Veerabhadram on Monday demanded that the Telangana government should take steps to increase the reservation for tribals in the State from present six to 10 per cent. Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a meeting organised by Telangana Girijana Sangham at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram here, Veerabhadram said that the TRS government had promised to give 12 per cent reservation for tribals in the State. However, no steps were taken to fulfill the promise. Further, he opposed the inclusion of Valmiki and Bhoi castes in the Scheduled Tribes.
