KCR behaving like a dictator, alleges CPI

Khammam: The CPI came down heavily on TRS government for arresting the farmers who demanded water to their crops. Party’s district secretary Bagam Hemanth Rao, who met the farmers of Bonakal mandal in Madhira jail on Monday, spoke to media persons outside the sub-jail. He criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his anti-people policies.

“The arrest of farmers was unfortunate. KCR, who came to power by assuring water and jobs, is behaving like a dictator,” Rao said, threatening to launch a people’s movement if the government didn’t mend its ways. He accused KCR for not focusing on the hardships faced by farmers. He didn’t have time to console the families of farmers who committed suicide unable to bear the losses they incurred in agriculture.

Rao also criticised the TRS government for giving a raw deal to the district in allocation of funds. Meanwhile, CPI (ML-New Democracy) district secretariat member Avula Venkateswarlu, who also met the farmers in the jail, condemned the arrest of farmers. He alleged that the government is protecting the interests of the rich while neglecting the problems of the poor.
