3 from TS on TTD Trust Board
The Andhra Pradesh government has finally constituted an 18-member Trust Board for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. The government, which made a marathon exercise to decide on the names of the board members, maintained equality and in tune with its two-eyed policy, has accommodated three members from Telangana on the board.

The government, which made a marathon exercise to decide on the names of the board members, maintained equality and in tune with its two-eyed policy, has accommodated three members from Telangana on the board.
Interestingly, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has also nominated some members from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra perhaps indicating that the TDP would soon convert itself into a national party. The three members who have been nominated on the coveted TTD board from Telangana are Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, G Sayanna (both TDP) and Chintala Ramachandra Reddy from the BJP.
Kanumuri Bapiraju-headed trust board, constituted during the united Andhra Pradesh, was wound up after the division of the state in July 2015. The specified authority led by Endowments principal secretary J C Sharma was constituted in August which has been managing the affairs of the board since then. Naidu, who left for China on Saturday, is said to have cleared the names of the new Trust Board. However, a GO is yet to be issued. It is likely only after Naidu’s return on April 18.
Former Tirupati MLA Chadalawada Krishnamurthy, who has been the top contender for the post, has finally succeeded and will head the Trust Board as its chairman. Krishnamurthy had to sacrifice the Tirupati Assembly seat to accommodate M Venkataramana, who joined the TDP just before the 2014 elections. At that time, Venkataramana was promised the TTD chairman’s post.
