Mahabubnagar: Senior Telugu Desam Party leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy has advised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to introspect and desist from resorting to criticism for being blamed for his style of functioning. Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Reddy claimed that KCR did not have faith in parliamentary democratic system. This was evident from the recent suspension from the State Assembly of the TDP members.

The TDP leader alleged that the Telangana State government was not in a position to spend funds being provided by the Centre. He accused it of ignoring the Centre’s advice of sending a report on drought and not paying attention even when the affected farmers resorted to suicide. Reddy ridiculed the hype being given by the government to Mission Kakatiya, claiming that the practice of desilting of tanks existed even during his grandfather’s days.

Telugu Desam MLA Revanth Reddy hit out at the government for failing to find a permanent solution even to one problem facing the State during the past 11 months. He said it had allocated only Rs.300 crore to the Bheema, Nettampadu and Kalwakurthy irrigation projects, after claiming to complete them by spending Rs.750 crore. Going by this yardstick, Reddy stated it would be difficult to believe that the Palamuru lift irrigation scheme, costing Rs.32,000 crore, would ever be completed. The MLA claimed that KCR was afraid of laying foundation for the scheme after being questioned over the suicides of farmers in the flood-affected areas.
