Though 10 months have passed, still there is no effort on that front. With GHMC elections due towards end of the year, the residents of the Cantonment constituency still wait for the promise made by the CM.

This is because of the fact that Cantonment segment has just only one full ward (Maredpally), under GHMC limits while rest of its areas fall under Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB). The top brass of the TRS party, according to political pundits, would be busy visiting other Assembly segments (having eight to 10 GHMC wards each) for the next few months with an aim to reach out to voters.
Cantonment has a population of nearly four lakh while the number of voters is 2.5 lakh. Meanwhile, Cantonment MLA G Sayanna (TDP) doubts whether Rao would fulfill his promise. It may be recalled that Chandrasekhar Rao decided to adopt this constituency since he felt that it faced severely neglect in the undivided Andhra Pradesh state. “Cantonment is the most ignored Assembly segment in the twin cities.
It is plagued with a plethora of problems only due to the negligence of the past and present governments. The Seemandhra Chief Ministers should be ashamed for its backwardness," the TRS chief stated while addressing a meeting in the constituency before the General Election
