Naini meets rain hit farmers
Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy visited Nallevelli village in Yacharam mandal and inspected the damaged crops here on Thursday. Naini was accompanied by Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy, Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Joint Collector K Amrapali. Mango gardens, paddy and vegetable crops were destroyed due to heavy rain and hailstorms that lashed the district for the last three days.

The farmers informed the Home Minister that they have lost standing paddy crop because of unseasonal rains. Responding to their plight, Naini assured them that the State government would come to the rescue of farmers, who suffered crop loss because of unseasonal rains. The Minister confirmed that the Cabinet had already discussed the issue of compensation for farmers, who suffered crop loss.
