Hyderabad: A life convict committed suicide by hanging in Cherlapally Central Prison on Sunday. The deceased, Battini Shiva Kumar alias Shivudu, 22, made a noose out of bed-sheet. He was found hanging from ventilator in the barrack bathroom in the morning.
Shivadu, CT No 2695, from Ghanpur in Mahbubnagar district was lodged in the prison in connection with a murder case. “He tried to commit suicide by hanging.
The inmates rushed inside and removed the bed-sheet and shifted him to the Gandhi Hospital where he was declared brought dead,” the jail officials said.
