Arrangements on for mammoth meet at LB stadium on April 24

Hyderabad: Arrangements are in full swing for the TRS plenary to be held at LB Stadium on April 24, which would focus its attention on ensuring the party’s victory in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls and sensitise people about various government schemes and programmes.Huge banners, flexi posters and cut-outs were being erected at several junctions and important places. Around 36,000 delegates are expected to attend the plenary meeting from 10 districts of the State.

Instructions have been given to district units to ensure 300 leaders and activists participate from each assembly constituency. In order to ensure plenary and the public meeting (at Parade Ground on April 27) become a big success, the party has constituted seven panels namely arrangements committee, decoration committee, food committee, stage and ground arrangements committee, parking committee, women representatives committee and media committee.

Several Ministers have being visiting the venue to oversee the arrangements personally for the last few days. There will be separate seating for women delegates. Also, food arrangements were made at the adjacent Nizam College ground. While Bird Flu scare led to removal of chicken dishes from the menu, the famous Hyderabad Biryani has also been removed in view of the prevailing hot summer. However, different recipes of mutton and vegetarian dishes will be served.

Meanwhile, party sources said at least 11 resolutions would be adopted in the plenary. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is understood to be in favor of including flagship programmes of the government such as Mission Kakatitya, Drinking Water Grid, Haritha Haaram, Hyderabad as Global City as resolutions. KCR is of the view that rank and file of the party would take schemes as a prestigious issue and strive to propagate them once they are introduced in the form of resolutions.

Also, he is mulling few resolutions on behalf of the party to offer suggestions to the government on people-friendly policies.The TRS president is understood to be happy with half-crore enrolment of members and smooth culmination of internal elections (village, mandal and district level) in 10 districts.
