Hyderabad: Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy on Saturday asked the municipal officials to offer quality services to the people. After inaugurating a Public Service Centre and Park established in a five-acre plot in Circle No. 14 in Kukatpally on Saturday, the Minister said the weather was pleasant and greenery was as expected by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Congratulating the officials, Mahender Reddy said it was good news that they had collected Rs 113 crore tax in Circle No.14 and at the same time the officials had the responsibility of extending quality services to the people. He suggested to the officials to issue birth and death certificates within a prescribed time. Mahender Reddy assured the people that drinking water problem in the most populated Kukatpally area would be eased soon. He also discussed with the officials concerned to construct a railway road bridge in the area.

He exhorted the people to participate actively to make the TRS government’s dream of making Hyderabad city as a world class city. Speaking on the occasion, Malkajgiri MP Ch Malla Reddy said he had already granted Rs 70 lakh from MP funds for the development of Kukatpally area and made it clear that he was ready to grant more funds to develop the drainage system in Kukatpally area.

Local MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao said establishment of the park and the library for the benefit of local people was a good move. “But drinking water problem is severe in the area and the State government must supply adequate drinking water to the Kukatpally people after the launch of Krishna Phase-III and Godavari Phase-I water schemes. Zonal Commissioner Raghuprasad, Circle 14 Deputy Commissioner Gangadhar Reddy and other officials participated in the programme.
