HC gives green signal to TS to constitute Bhudan Board

The division Bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P V Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday disposed of a writ appeal filed by the Telangana State government on the issue of appointing a separate Bhudan Board.

As reported earlier, the State government had appointed a special officer in place of the existing Bhudan Board, but a single judge bench set it aside. Aggrieved by the order of the single judge, the present appeal was filed. The Bench, though set aside the appointment of the special officer, said the government was free to constitute its own board. The bench further directed the existing board not to take any policy decisions.
