Hyderabad: Providing a big relief to the farming community, Telangana State government has decided to supply nine hour power to the agriculture sector from March next year by procuring 3000 MW of power from different sources in addition to the 4300 MW installed capacity in the State. CM KCR on Wednesday reviewed power demand and supply this summer with the top official of the Energy department here.


He instructed the TSTransco CMD D Prabhakar Rao to procure 3000 MW of power required to meet the demand including domestic, agricultural and commercial needs next year. The CM was informed about the arrangements made to get 150 MW from Jhajjar power plant 290 MW form Central Generation Stations (CGS), 810 MW from Gayatri Thermal Plant, 600 MW from Bhupalpalli KTPS and 1200 MW would be available from Jaipur plant. After procuring the required power, the CM said nine hour power would be supplied to the farmers during daytime.
