Actress Ashmita applauds SHE Team
I was reading a newspaper on Thursday and saw a headline – Two more arrested for eve-teasing– and carried on. To my surprise, it turned out to be my story, Ashmita Karnani, a Telugu film actress reacted after learning that the duo who harassed and made obscene gestures at her a couple of days back was arrested by the SHE Team.

Hyderabad: I was reading a newspaper on Thursday and saw a headline – Two more arrested for eve-teasing– and carried on. To my surprise, it turned out to be my story, Ashmita Karnani, a Telugu film actress reacted after learning that the duo who harassed and made obscene gestures at her a couple of days back was arrested by the SHE Team.
“My heartfelt thanks to SHE Teams,” she said. The 29-year-old actress who was travelling in a car near the Punjagutta crossroads, clicked pictures of the duo as they tried to block her path and made obscene gestures and then posted the photos on the Facebook (FB) page detailing the incident and tagged it to the Hyderabad Traffic Police.
“Little did I know what the consequences would be, but I made my mind and thought of teaching these guys a lesson and posted the pictures. "Show them some love guys! SHARE SHARE SHARE," she wrote. “Eve-teasing is not funny at all. Without making any police complaint, I made the accused feel guilty and we Hyderabadis are lucky to have SHE Teams to take care of us.
The FB post got more than 11,000 shares and the duo - Imran Bin Mohammad, 30, a resident of Shalibanda and Syed Norulla Hussaini, 29, of Bahadurpura – were arrested by the police who managed to track them down with their license plate number.
Apart from TV serials, she has also acted in a few films like Murari, Athidi and Madhumasam.
