Haneef alias Ahmed, a youngster from Adilabad who joined the ISIS while studying in the US had reportedly died in Iraq. Haneef, 25, who reportedly went to the US from Macherial of Adilabad district for higher studies last year, attracted towards the terrorist organisation fighting in Iraq and Syria against the governments. He came in contact with the ISIS through online social media. It is believed that he died there while fighting the governments.

Hyderabad: Haneef alias Ahmed, a youngster from Adilabad who joined the ISIS while studying in the US had reportedly died in Iraq. Haneef, 25, who reportedly went to the US from Macherial of Adilabad district for higher studies last year, attracted towards the terrorist organisation fighting in Iraq and Syria against the governments. He came in contact with the ISIS through online social media. It is believed that he died there while fighting the governments.


The Indian Counter Intelligence, which got the information about Ahmed’s terror links, took his parents into custody and questioning them at an unknown location. Meanwhile, the local police of Adilabad district kept a vigil in the town, besides Nirmal and Bhainsa. In January, Javeed Baba, 24, from Khammam was amongst the nine people deported from Turkey, while they were trying to cross over to Syria allegedly for joining the ISIS.


In 2014, a 19 year old girl from Hyderabad, who was residing in Qatar, had also flown to Turkey, but changed her mind and returned to her parents in India. On January 16, suspected ISIS recruit and US returnee Salman Mohiuddin was arrested at the Shamshabad Airport by the authorities, while he was leaving for Dubai from where he was allegedly planning to go to Syria to join the ISIS.
