Nizamabad: The Nizamabad District Dalit Graveyards Protection Committee and Telangana JAC Nizamabad wing on Saturday demanded the State government to protect the graveyards in the district. They appealed to the government to remove the encroachments at Gupanpalli graveyard, which Dalits had been using it since last 50 years.


The Committee Convener and CPI(ML) New Democracy State leader V. Prabhakar demanded that the realtor Antireddi Rajareddy, Yeleti Ravinder Reddy and Yeleti Goutham Reddy have encroached the 8.20 acre of government graveyard land at Gupanpalli, with Survey numbers- 350, 351 and 352.


The other convener and TNGO’s District President Gaini Gangaram alleged that the realtors encroached the land, removed the burials by violating the rules and filled it with Mission Kakatiya silt. He said the realtors are claiming that they purchased the land from Rama Sharma, who in turn purchased from late Narayana Swamy but they are not submitting the relevant documents.

J Narayana, District President, Ambedkar Sangam demanded the government to immediately take action against the realtors and remove the encroachments so as to enable local people use graveyard without hassles. He also demanded the district collector to order enquiry into the issue and take action against revenue officials, who connived with realtors.
