Hyderabad: AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi is expected to take up a Rytu Bharosa Yatra in Telangana in the second week of this month. Besides wooing the farmers in distress, Rahul is reportedly accepted to meet students at Osmania University. According to TSPCC, Rahul will interact with the university students and professors at face-to-face programme. It is learnt that Rahul will stay for the night at the university.
It is being stated that Rahul will reprimand the State government for its ‘failure’ to prevent farmers’ suicides. He may touch upon the issue of about 700 farmers ending their lives in the State after TRS came to power. During his yatra, Rahul Gandhi is to woo the farmers in the State that the Congress will fight with the government for their cause.
Telangana Congress leadership is making arrangements for Rahul’s visit in Medak, the home district of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He will interact with the farmers if he tours Medak, according to sources. Rahul Gandhi’s visit is aimed to boost the ailing Congress in the State which was accorded by the AICC during the UPA regime. (NSS)
