Speaking on the occasion, Satyanarayana Reddy urged the officials of agriculture and irrigation departments and Tahsildars to create awareness among the farmers on the benefits of using desiliting sand in their agricultural fields. He expressed displeasure over delay in desilting works at some tanks. He also warned assistant engineers of Irrigation departments that he would be annoyed, if they told him that pe0ple are not responding.


He asked officials to bring to his notice, if contractors create any problem. Notices would be served to the contractors, who failed to commence the works as per the agreement and their contracts would also be cancelled, he added. The engineers of the irrigation department explained to the District Collector that Nalgonda district achieved third place in Mission Kakatiya works by removing silt in 28 lakhs cubic metres in the tanks.
