No Chicken for Hyderabadis yet as bird flu threat still on in Telangana

With the people heaving a sigh of relief over bird flu scare diminishing, the death of several hundred birds on the outskirts of Hyderabad has once again triggered fears of bird flu.

Villages adjacent to Thorrur village reported the deaths of the birds from poultry farms; the cloacal samples, serum has been collected by the Veterinary teams of Telangana State Animal Husbandry Department who sent them to the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases in Bhopal for confirmation.

Around 1,000 poultry birds are said to have died.
