Nalgonda: The District Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy, on Saturday, directed the officials to prepare a action plan to conduct Telangana formation day celebrations for a week in the district. Speaking at a meeting, which was organised on the preparations for Telangana formation day celebrations, in the District Collectorate meeting hall, Satyanarayana Reddy said that Telangana formation day celebrations would be conducted from village-level to district-level for a week i.e from June 1 to 7.


He asked the officials to prepare a plan to conduct the celebrations like commemorating the sacrifices of the Telangana martyrs and highlighting the culture and traditions of Telangana. There is need to ensure the participation of all sections of the people in the celebration to make it a grand success. Voluntary organisations may also participate in it, if they had interest, he added. He directed the officials to illuminate all the government offices with colourful lights for the week-long celebrations.


The celebrations should start at 10 am on June 1 and crackers should be burst between 11.55 pm to 12.10 am to mark the announcement by the Centre on formation of Telangana state. The District Collector has also instructed the officials concerned to make arrangements for conduct of the celebrations at Telangana martyrs pylon at Clock Tower centre in Nalgonda town. Superintendent of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal, DWAMA Project Director Damodar Reddy and several district level officers attended the meeting.
