Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a student was allegedly killed during a WWE-style fight by a group of teenagers who tried to project it as a road accident. On the fateful day, the victim Nabeel Ahmed of Mir Alam Mandi, second year student of Intermediate, along with his friends gathered near a school in Panjesha. “It is not clear what prompted them to start a street boxing, but Nabeel and his friend, exchanged blows during the fight. Nabeel immediately collapsed on the ground after a few blows during the boxing from the opponent,” DCP (South) V Satyanarayana said adding they were probing the death from every angle.

Nabeel was rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. “His friends informed the family members that Nabeel had died in a road mishap and had even helped them in burial rituals,” the DCP added. The family members buried the body at a graveyard in Barkas area. However, the victim’s father Ghulam Dastagir, who grew suspicious after watching a clip of the fight in a phone, approached the police on May 7 and lodged a complaint with the Mirchowk police.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and detained seven persons and started questioning. “I want justice to be done. The culprits should be hanged otherwise these types of crimes will not stop,” parents demanded. Police have written to the senior officials seeking permission to exhume the body for conducting a post-mortem examination. “After the post-mortem, which would be conducted by a team of doctors on Monday, a murder case will be registered against the accused persons. We seized all the cell phones,” the official said.
