Khammam: “India is going to witness a newspaper revolution in future,” said Prof. K Nageshwar while launching the Khammam edition of The Hans India here on Monday. "Many people are of the opinion that English newspapers will not cover the local news. But Hans India while giving importance to local and regional news, covers national and international news as well,” said Prof Nageshwar while speaking to the media persons at the Technical Training Development Centre (TTDC).


Narrating a conversation with a friend on way to Khammam to launch the sixth edition of Hans India, Prof Nageshwar said, "A friend of mine asked why we were launching a new edition when people are glued to television and stopped reading newspapers. I replied to him that many people don't know that after the introduction of the television, the circulation of newspapers has increased tremendously.

According to the World Newspapers’ Association, the newspaper industry in America and Europe is on the down slide. But in India, China and Japan the daily newspapers are spreading vastly in Asia Continent." Explaining the reasons for flourishing of newspapers in India, he said "growing political awareness and percentage of literacy is attributed to the growth of the newspapers’ circulation.


Even today there are nearly 50 crore who read newspapers in India. So till 100 years there will not be any problem for the newspaper industry in India."The Hans India Executive Director K Hanumanta Rao and General Manager Sai Reddy were present.
