Hyderabad: Demanding the government to regularize the contract employees the Telangana contract employees JAC took out a rally from Sundarayya Vignan Kendra to Indira Park, on Tuesday. The JAC leaders Sreedhar Gowd, Venkat Reddy, Ramesh, Sanjeeva and Jaalil said that contract employees have been on strike for past 16 days and some of their colleagues were on strike for past 11 days.

Gowd said that KCR had promised to regularize their services soon after coming to power but despite several meetings and discussions, the government was still dilly dallying on the issue. He said that the delay in decision was adversely affecting over 22,000 employees. The government should not forget the role of these employees in the struggle for separate Telangana, he said.
The salaries of the contract employees were already low and added to it middle men (contractors) were usurping part of it. The government should do away with this system and see to it that that we get our salaries directly either in cash or through crediting in back accounts, Gowd added.
