Nizamabad: The State government has directed the district administration to plant 3.35 crores of saplings under ‘Haritha Haaram’ project in Nizamabad district. “The officials should reach the specified target and should also take of care saplings,” said District Collector D Ronald Ross, on Wednesday, after visiting the nurseries at Dharpalli mandal.

Ross visited the Nallavelli, Indranagar and Dammannapet nurseries and observed the growth of saplings. He directed the forest officials to take proper care of the saplings, especially in the harsh summer, by putting them under shade. He directed officials to remove weeds and use grading system to remove dried saplings and protect the healthy ones. ZP Vice-Chairman Sumana Reddy, Mandal Special Officer Rekha, MPDO Govind and others took part in the Collector’s visit.
