One of the most important and upcoming projects of the TRS government, the Yadadiri already has very good road connectivity.


Now, it will be connected by air route. Though initially it will be used for VIP passengers, it would be converted into sort of air taxi service.The master plan, which is being developed by the government, will prioritize space for the helipad close to the famous hillock.


According to officials, the master plan being developed will finalize the spot for the helipad along with the estimation. With the prominence of the temple town gaining ground after TRS government came into being, the real estate boom has also caused the government to delayed finalising the exact location which will provide the needed area for developing the helipad.


“Government has plans to develop helipad, but we are yet to acquire land for this. This will surely provide connection for long distance devotees coming for darshan, including those coming from other States,” said G Kishan Rao, CEO, Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority.


The master plan which will get materialise within two to three months, will have huge proposition of hotels, theatres and several other important buildings meant for the tourists and the local population. Unlike general tourism, the temple tourism has special importance by the State government. Hence, the officials are taking up this project prestigiously with an eye to attract tourists from across the country.


Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who made aerial survey and visit to the Yadagirigutta in the beginning of this year has assured to develop it into world class religious and tourism centre, by earmarking Rs 100 crore each year till it is developed. However, he had rejected the proposal to build a helipad on the hillock.


During the visit, he asked officials to make provisions for centralised parking, shopping complex and two-way road connectivity to go up and down the hill. He also directed R&B officials to lay a four-lane road from Raigir to Yadagirigutta.
