Hyderabad: The Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced that Swachh Hyderabad would continue for the next four years and not just for four days, as planned earlier. Comparing the mass cleaning drive as a surgery being performed on the city to cure it from all ailments, he said that four days time was not sufficient for this big task. As part of the Swachh Hyderabad programme, Rao visited his allotted segment ‘Parsigutta’ for the second consecutive day and interacted with locals and even visited basti.

He went around Parsigutta, Lala Nagar, Shanti Nagar, Chilkalguda and other surrounding localities. At Ashoknagar Community Hall in Amber Nagar, he sat on the floor and held direct interaction with womenfolk. Complaining about lack of storm water drains in their area, the locals said that the rain water enters their houses whenever it even drizzles in the city. The Chief Minister was told that there were lot of encroachments on the local nala which have deteriorated the conditions for the locals.

While promising to construct double-bed room houses for the poor, CM asked the Amber Nagar residents to convince the encroachers for eviction. He assured that his government would provide permanent houses to the homeless like that of IDH model housing colony, coming up in Bhoiguda. He also promised to release monthly pension for the local beedi workers. Rao also sanctioned a Primary Health Centre for the area.

Later, the Chief Minister visited Ashok Nagar area and inspected the conditions of housing, drainage and nalas. While interacting with the locals, KCR assured that steps would be taken up to set up a junior and degree college in the area, besides, taking up expansion of roads and underground drainage system. Rao said there was no shortage of funds to provide basic amenities to the citizens of Hyderabad.
