Congress accuses CM of eyeing OU land. Senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir has criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for planning to acquire 11 acres of land of Osmania University for weaker sections housing project.

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir has criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for planning to acquire 11 acres of land of Osmania University for weaker sections housing project.

Addressing the media at Congress Legislature Party office here on Monday, the Congress leader said KCR appeared to be suffering from 'open land phobia' and wherever he sees an open land, he comes out with some construction plans.

“In the name of weaker section housing, KCR wants to handover the OU land to realtors for personal gains,” he alleged. Shabbir said KCR should drop plans to acquire 11 acres of land. “We will not allow the government to take even an inch of university land.

We will launch agitation if KCR does not mend his ways,” he warned, alleging that KCR has been pursuing his “real estate ambitions” since he took over as the Chief Minister. “He first eyed 627 acre prime land of Gurukul Trust. Later, he targeted 57 acres of Chest Hospital land at Erragadda. Recently he demanded 60 acres of military land in the name of building a new Secretariat.
