Heat wave death toll reaches 700 in Telangana, AP

With the heat wave in Telangana and AP reaching the worst state, more than 700 people have been killed so far with over 251 deaths reported in Telangana on Sunday.

The India Meteorological department issued a warning that severe heat wave conditions are expected to continue. Since May 18, the death toll in AP has reached to 470 with 84 people succumbing to death on Sunday.

Due to the heat wave, road side vendors and daily labourers are suffering a lot under the unrelenting summer heat. The officials have been directed by the Telangana government to bring in alternatives to save people from the sun-strokes.
