Wanaparthy (Mahabubnagar): Wanaparthy MLA G Chinna Reddy sat on a dharna along with his supporters at the crossroads, here on Monday, to protest against the attack on Congress activists by TRS partymen. The Congress and TRS activists clashed in Venkatayapalli village of Ghanapuram mandal over breaking of plaques.
Local DSP and CI pacified the agitators and persuaded them to disperse. The clash was a result of the simmering rivalry between Chinna Reddy and Telangana Planning Board vice-president S Niranjan Reddy.
The MLA was upset with the latter’s alleged interference in local development works. The Legislator pulled up officials for preparing new plaques for the “renewer coat” works at the behest of Niranjan Reddy and demanded an explanation.
