Kamalanathan Committee
- Apprehensive about losing their increments, PRC and fitment
- To intensify agitation, if there is further delay
Hyderabad: Some of the key departments including Medical Education, Public Health and Family Welfare are yet to send the list to Kamalanathan Committee on distribution of officials among Telangana State.

As a result of this delay about 150 employees who were allocated to AP in June, 2014 under ‘order to serve’ fear losing increment and PRC, if the decision is further deferred. During the bifurcation, these employees were temporarily allocated to AP. The departments should have submitted the list to the Kamalanathan Committee within two months after the temporary allocation was made but it was delayed by the respective department heads.
The Head of the Departments of Telangana and AP, including Director of Medical Education, Director of Health and Commissioner of Family Welfare should have solved the issue, but regular representations made by the employees didn’t yield any result. “For the last six months they have been claiming that the process was on,” said J Venkataiah, secretary, Telangana Gazetted Officers Association (Director Medical and Health Services).
After making several representations to the directors of these departments without any success, the employees are now approaching the higher officials to get assurance that the delay would not affect their increments and perks. “If the AP government suddenly asks their respective medical departments to shift their offices to Vijayawada, then what about our future,” Venkataiah asks. They are also worried that if the division of officials is delayed then they may lose benefits like PRC, increment and fitment of 43 percent.
Recently, about 150 employees met AP Commissioner of Family Welfare Lav Agarwal, AP Director of Public Health Aruna Kumari and Telangana Director of Public Health Bifurcation Nodal Officer, Sanjeeva Rao. In the coming days, they are planning to intensify the agitation after representing the same with the Health Ministers on both sides. They demand that the Telangana employees should be allocated to Telangana and AP employees to AP, so that there is no more confusion.
