TURNCOATS TROUBLE

Says an inquiry only will expose ‘real face’ of KCR

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Pradesh Congress Committee (TSPCC) here on Tuesday demanded an inquiry into the defection of MLAs to the ruling party and the amount of money spent by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to woo them. An inquiry alone would expose the real face of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, it added.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, TSPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka charged Chandrashekar Rao with ‘purchasing MLAs from other parties to decimate the Opposition.’ Bhatti Vikramarka said since TDP MLA Revanth Reddy was caught red-handed in a sting operation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, he had emerged as a ‘Donga’, but the TRS leaders, who splurged money and positions to attract MLAs from other parties were going scot-free as ‘Doras’.

He also said a day would come the ‘Dora’ becoming a “Donga” soon. He said the Congress functioned as a responsible Opposition during the last one year and scored 100 marks. Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the TRS MLAs were not happy with the Chandrashekar Rao’s style of functioning as they were not getting the Chief Minister’s appointment even after three months and feeling suffocated.

He alleged that the TRS was honeymooning with the MIM, which opposed formation of separate Telangana State tooth and nail. Alleging that both the TDP and TRS raised curtains of murky politics, Uttam Kumar sarcastically demanded that the government put Rao’s photo consuming lemon juice in Khammam in school lessons. He said he was giving only five marks out of 100 to the TRS government for the one-year rule.

The Congress leader alleged that the Chief Minister was making tall statements keeping the ensuing GHMC elections in view. Uttam slammed the TRS for totally neglecting AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi even though she delivered Telangana State by dividing united Andhra Pradesh in spite of knowing that her party would be routed in the Andhra region.

Stating that the UPA government had made several changes in the AP Reorganisation Act to benefit Telangana State, the TPCC chief said though the Narendra Modi government was not implementing them, the Chief Minister remained calm for obvious reasons. Reminding Rao’s statement that ‘Andhra people’ looted the Telangana region, Uttam questioned him as to why he allowed Andhra contractors in the Water Grid and other schemes.

Declaring that the Congress would celebrate January 2 every year as Day of Gratitude to Sonia Gandhi, he demanded that the Chandrashekar Rao government include Sonia Gandhi’s name in the school curriculum.
