Hyderabad: The one-year rule of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Telangana had failed on all fronts including meeting the aspirations of people of the new State after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said on Tuesday.


Participating in the ‘meet the press’ organised jointly by TWJF (Telangana Working Journalists’ Federation) and APWJF here, he said not a single new industry was established in Telangana in the last one year. The promises made by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) during the elections that two- bedroom houses to poor and creation of employment in government and private sectors were yet to be fulfilled.

After the formation of Telangana, the aspirations of people, particularly the youth belonging to BC, SC and ST communities, reached high but in practice, the government utterly failed to realise their dreams, the CPI (M) leader said and added that the farmer suicides also continued unabated due to government’s failure in addressing the crisis in farming sector. The highest number of deaths reported in Telangana State due to heat wave conditions this summer was a stark example of the TRS misrule, he added.
