Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma held a review meeting in this connection with top officials of various government departments on Wednesday.


He emphasised on erecting strong barricades, providing proper lighting, provision for temporary sheds for patients, toilets and bathroom facilities at the venue, tight security using CCTVs, setting up more fish counters and provision for adequate water tankers for storing of fishlings.


Rajiv Sharma told authorities to set up a 24x7 control room at the Exhibition Grounds for monitoring crowds coming from all over the country. He directed police officials to provide necessary bandobust besides escorting the family of Bathini Harnath Gowd (distributors of fish prasadam) from their ancestral home in the old city.


He also stressed on maintenance of sanitation, garbage clearance and arrangement of drinking water at the venue for patients and also for their dependants, visitors and officials on duty. Milk should be distributed at the venue for the benefit of the patients and others at the venue, he directed.


The Chief Secretary also directed the officials to make foolproof arrangements for uninterrupted power supply, special RTC buses to the venue from bus stations and railway stations, adequate medical units, ambulances and fire engines to handle any eventuality.
