Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri seat which witnessed a multi-cornered contest with TDP candidate Malla Reddy, chairman of Malla Reddy Group of Institutions, who was pitted against Congress candidate Sarvey Satyarayana, Lok Satta chief Jayaprakash Narayan, and TRS, YSRCP candidates, among others, is back in news and speculations are rife in political circles that he would soon quit TDP and join TRS.

This speculation gained strength as the lone TDP MP showered praises on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at a programme organised to distribute house site pattas to the poor in his home constituency. Participating in the programme attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Malla Reddy said the State is fortunate to have the Chief Minister like K Chandrasekhar Rao.

“Indeed, we are fortunate enough to see that KCR is giving house sites to the poor and deprived classes at the expense of the government. We expect better future as the TRS Government has allotted hundreds of crores of rupees for development of Malkajgiri segment, the MP said, adding that it is only KCR, who is capable of making Bangaru Telangana.

By giving 3,300 house sites, KCR liberated the poor and gave them a new lease of life to the poorest of the poor, the TDP MP said. He said in the coming two years all other issues will be resolved under the able leadership of KCR. Heaping praise on the Chief Minister at a time when the TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy was trying to ‘protect’ TDP led to the speculations going viral that Malla Reddy was moving closer to TRS.

However, when contacted by The Hans India, Reddy said he was taken aback by the speculations. He said he was flooded with telephone calls from media and various others who were making discreet inquiries. He said one should not read too much into what he had said. “I have no intention of quitting TDP nor is there any need for me to do so.” He said there was no party angle to his remarks.
