Hyderabad is gearing up for valedictory event of the week-long first State Formation day festivities that kick started on June 2. Authorities are expecting a crowd of one lakh to converge on Tank Bund stretch set to host the main event in the evening. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, his entire Cabinet, TRS MLAs, MLCs and MPs from ten districts besides mayors, ZP chairman’s, ZPTCs and MPTCs will be taking part in the conclusion celebrations.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad is gearing up for valedictory event of the week-long first State Formation day festivities that kick started on June 2. Authorities are expecting a crowd of one lakh to converge on Tank Bund stretch set to host the main event in the evening. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, his entire Cabinet, TRS MLAs, MLCs and MPs from ten districts besides mayors, ZP chairman’s, ZPTCs and MPTCs will be taking part in the conclusion celebrations. Governor ESL Narasimhan is also expected to attend the colourful event.
Tourism and Culture departments have lined up unique programmes to captivate the big crowd expected to throng the venue. Laser shows, fireworks display and adventurous stunts by police department personnel riding horses and motor bikes will be a special attraction. Nearly 5,000 cultural artists and folk artists from ten districts will enthrall the audience with their performances and rendition of popular Telangana songs.
Noted personalities from film and sports fields will also grace the occasion. Besides illuminating historic landmarks like Charminar and Assembly with colorful lights, authorities decked up Buddha Statue, Kachiguda railway station and Secunderabad Clock Tower with innovative 3D lighting this time garnering attention of onlookers. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao personally visited these landmarks on Friday night to see for himself the uniqueness of 3D lighting.
With the call given by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to make their presence felt, elected representatives from village to state-level will be arriving in the state capital from Sunday morning itself. TRS party is taking up a huge rally from People’s Plaza on Necklace Road till Ambedkar statue on Tank Bund in which all leaders will be taking part.
Authorities are making arrangements to distribute one lakh laddus to visitors flocking the venue on Sunday evening. These laddus will be distributed in four to five counters to be set up on roads leading to Tank Bund like LB Stadium, Liberty etc. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has made elaborate arrangements for the closing ceremony of the Telangana Formation Day celebrations at Tank Bund on Sunday.
As many as 500 ‘Safai’ workers have been deployed around the venue to ensure cleaning. Fifty public toilets have also been erected for the convenience of general public. Water fountains have been arranged on Tank Bund. Decorative lighting has been arranged on all roads leading to Tank Bund.
Meanwhile, Telangana State Bhavan in New Delhi is holding the culmination programme on a grand scale. Foreign dignitaries have been extended invitations to attend the closing fete. Those expected to attend include Phillip D Kremin (US Embassy), Nicolas Idier ( French Embassy), Ritva Haukijarvi (Embassy of Finland), Ali Illiassou (Ambassador of Republic of Nigeria), Dr Sabit Subasic (Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Dr Janice Darbari (Honorary Consul General Montenegro), Krishna Prasad Dhakal (Nepal Minister).
