Hyderabad: The TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy, who is being grilled by the ACB in the “Cash for Vote” case is indisposed, according to his defence counsel. The counsel on Sunday alleged that Revanth was being harassed by the investigating officers. Revanth’s counsel, Pramod Reddy, said the MLA was subjected to mental torture.
On the pretext of questioning, the lawyer alleged, cops did not allow him to even sleep. He said the police did not allow Revanth even to perform ablutions. He said Revanth was suffering from a medical condition called “neurocardiogenic syncope”and if he was subjected to further stress, he might faint and if he fainted there was a chance of getting seizure.
Harry Sebastian was suffering from throat infection and fever, the lawyer said. He also said he would complain about “serious infraction of law” to the court. They said the ACB had turned down their plea to shift him to ACB office instead of questioning him in the SIT office where there were not enough facilities for the MLA.
The advocates said despite sore throat, Revanth Reddy faced nearly 60 questions. According to sources, most of the questions pertained to source of Rs. 50 lakh cash which was seized from his possession at the time of arrest Revanath, who was shifted to Special Investigating Team (SIT) of Hyderabad Detective Department in Himayathnagar office on Saturday, was brought back to ACB Headquarters on Sunday at 9 am for second day quizzing.
It is learnt that the ACB questioned Revanth on Black money code language. It was learnt that Revanth admitted to the officials that he was not aware of the source of Rs 50 lakh and he came to know just when he entered Stephenson’s room in Lalaguda.
Sebastian who was interrogated on the same line revealed that he only mediated the deal after getting a call from Elvis Stephenson who was ready to vote for T-TDP MLC candidate if anyone gives him money. Sebastian then approached TDP leaders with the same ‘message’ but nothing aware of the money.
