Hyderabad: The main opposition YSR Congress Party is reportedly facing a dissenting voice on the home turf, following some of its leaders expressing their reservations over the party’s support to its new-found-friend, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). According to a party leader, YSRCP had taken a decision to extend support to TRS and helped it in that party’s efforts in checkmating the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Telangana.

This support was only a “temporary one and only restricted to the MLC elections,” was the line taken by the party. Now, the party has chalked out state-wide protests in all assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh over the TDP’s alleged note-for-vote efforts, to get its candidate win during the same MLC elections.

The protests were aimed at demanding Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s resignation, vowing moral responsibility as his name has been surfaced in the scam. As a follow-up, party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was going to Delhi and would meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, to submit a memorandum to intervene and conduct a thorough probe on the issue.
