The Congress leaders who verified allegations of phone tapping with the higher officials in the intelligence department, were shocked to know that mobile phones of some of their party leaders, were under observation of the state government for quite some time.

Hyderabad: The Congress leaders who verified allegations of phone tapping with the higher officials in the intelligence department, were shocked to know that mobile phones of some of their party leaders, were under observation of the state government for quite some time.


According to party sources, the mobile phones of some of the top leaders like Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, T Jeevan Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Md Shabbir Ali were tapped before the MLC elections and government might have used ‘private agencies’ against political opponents.


“My mobile has been tapped for at least last six months, as the TRS-led government always remained prepared as if they know Congress agenda beforehand,” said a senior party leader. It is believed that the tapping of party leaders reportedly began, after the visit of AICC general secretary, Digvijay Singh about six months ago.


Ever since his visit, the leaders have been suspecting that their phones were being tapped. The party leaders, will be discussing the issue internally are likely to react by Thursday, “We shall be taking forward with the Government of India and also with Human Rights Commission,” the leader told The Hans India
