Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in view of the raging row between AP and Telangana over Revanth Reddy's case and also alleged tapping of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu's phone issue.

There were reports in some section of the media that the AP CM who had met the PM on the same issue in the national capital, sought immediate replacement of Narasimhan. It is said that Chandrababu Naidu reportedly told the PM that Governor favoured the Telangana government during the last one year and thus, needed to be changed.

The Governor reportedly explained to Modi that he had not favoured any government and acted only as per Constitutional provisions. Chandrababu had also insisted that the Centre frame rules and guidelines to hand over the law and order of Hyderabad to the Governor.

However, the Central Government is said to have told the Governor to ignore Section 8 of the State Reorganisation Act which gives him full powers in the common capital area with regard to law and order for the time being.
