Karimnagar: District Superintendent of Police D Joel Devis informed that there are 32 underground cadre Maoists from the district, working in various places across the country. The SP asked the family members and friends of UG cadre naxalites to pursue their wards to give up arms and join mainstream.


The SP, on Monday distributed cheques to the family members of the people who were killed in Maoists’ attacks. Cheques, worth Rs 5 lakh each were given to 22 families. Speaking on the occasion, Joel Devis said naxalites, who travels in the forest by chanting impossible principles, have achieved nothing.

Instead, they are killing innocent people and bringing their families on to the streets to enlighten their existence. Developmental activity in the infested areas was also hindered due to damage of public property by Maoists, he informed.

Naxalities are taking shelter in other states as the local people started refusing them, he informed and added that the government officials are able to visit interior areas and the developmental activity was speed up. The SP wanted the people to continue the same spirit in the future and cooperate with cops. He also asked Maoists to join mainstream and avail government benefits.
